Lambourn’s Guest House is a gem waiting to be discovered in the quaint gold rush town of Kaapsehoop, Mpumalanga. In Kaapsehoop you will find yourself surrounded by breathtaking views, strange sandstone formations and a blaze of color when aloes start flowering on the escarpment in June and July.
If what you need is to catch your breath and feel alive, then Lambourn’s is the place to be. The cottage offers luxurious self-catering accommodation, complete with three beds, three baths, and all the amenities to comfortably house six guests. An open plan kitchen plays host to scrumptious breakfasts and long, late night dinners around lingering conversations. The main bedroom has its own balcony with a view of the gorgeous surrounds.
A skylight with clear glass allows for stargazing on clear nights - you might even see a shooting star to make a wish upon. Even on cloudy nights you can stay entertained by a movie through the available DSTV satellite decoder and flat screen television. A dishwasher, dryer, microwave, stove and other facilities are available to make your stay as simple and enjoyable as possible. With all of this we have only one regret - there are no pets allowed at Lambourn’s.
The garden is alive with bird song, butterflies and all sorts of little critters. Rock hyraxes sun themselves, watching you curiously as you hike one of the many routes to the highest viewpoint on the cliffs. The infamous wild horses of Kaapsehoop are bound to neigh in the distance as you explore, and some might even gallop around with fowls in tow. They are frequently seen in the sleepy village, and might even stand still long enough for a pat on the back. View the gallery
